Why Only Distilled Water?
The requirement for distilled water is driven by two critical factors: probiotic viability and flavor purity.
- Protection of Beneficial Bacteria: Tap water, and even most filtered waters, contain chlorine, chloramines, and other chemical treatments designed to kill bacteria. While effective for public safety, these chemicals indiscriminately destroy the live probiotics (Bacillus coagulans) in Nevoso creamers before they can provide health benefits. Distilled water is free of these antimicrobial agents, ensuring the probiotics remain viable upon consumption.
- Flavor Enhancement Sensitivity: FiberSweet acts as a potent flavor potentiator. While this masks bitterness in sweeteners, it also amplifies underlying flavors in the mixing liquid. In tap or filtered water, FiberSweet can magnify the taste of chlorine, fluoride, PFAS, or heavy metals, resulting in a distinct “chemical” or metallic aftertaste. Distilled water provides a neutral base, allowing the creamer’s natural vanilla and cream notes to shine without interference.
- Mineral Absorption: Nevoso blends are formulated with 84 trace minerals. Distilled water, being mineral-free, creates an optimal osmotic gradient that may aid in the absorption of these specific added minerals, whereas hard tap water with high mineral content could theoretically interfere with this balance.
